SEPTEMBER, 2007

Both of us and our families want to wish all of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 5768. We look forward to enjoying the fruits of Sisterhood as the year progresses.

We have a busy year ahead as you no doubt have read in the previous bulletins. October already has two events planned: the first book club at Sybelle Heilbrunn’s house and the opening program which Anita Shore is busily planning. Look elsewhere in the bulletin for more information. Also, we will be mailing out membership information for all of you. Goldie Mankin is at work as I write, trying to seek out new members to add to our roster this year. If you know anyone who is not affiliated with a temple who wants to join us, please feel free to share the membership information with them. We look forward to all of you renewing your membership or joining us for the first time.

The Women’s Torah Commentary should be making its debut at the WRJ convention in San Diego in December. We have ordered for many of you at a much reduced rate. If you made a reservation for one or more copies, please send your checks to the temple marked: Attn: Women’s Commentary. Each book is $40.50 which includes shipping and handling. If you did not reserve a copy, we will have books available in the Gift Shop while they last. They will retail, however, for $75. Needless to say, the proceeds will go to the Sisterhood.

At the end of September, we will be attending a WRJ Midwest leadership retreat at OSRUI. We hope to come back with some exciting ideas. Additionally, we are both attending the WRJ Biennial in San Diego in December as part of the Temple’s contingent. Here again, we are looking for ideas and networking with other sisterhoods of similar size and challenges.

Again, may the New Year be a good one. L’Shana Tova.
