This evening’s Family Erev Shabbat Service will be led by Rabbi Dreyfus, will begin at 7:30 pm. Nancy Friedman and the Junior Choir — and those congregants who wish to join in — will provide the music.
Tomorrow’s Shabbat morning service, lead by Rabbi Dreyfus, will begin at 10:00 am. Jerry Levine will be the Cantorial Soloist.
The Parasha ia Ki Tavo, Deuteronomy 26:1–29, continuing to discuss what to do when “you come in to the land”. You will certainly recognize the historical passages that have been incorporated into the Passover Hagaddah….”my father was a wandering Aramean . . ” which the people are supposed to recite after making an offering to the Priests. The reading continues on with mandatory behavior, and public recitations of actions that will be cursed and actions that will be blessed, and lists of commandments to be kept when you go into the land.
The Hafarah is the Sixth Haftarah of Consolation, Isaiah 60:1–22
Slichot services at 10:30 pm Saturday evening
And, of course, Rosh HaShana is coming.
