We kicked off the 2008 Football Raffle at the June 2 at the Annual Meeting, and are very excited about the potential on this annual fund raising event. Last year we sold a little over half a set, and raised over $3,000 for the general fund.. The football raffle can make a big dent in this year’s large fund raising goal, particularly if we can sell a full set of 496 books. Last year we sold about half of a set, and made $3000. Selling all 496 books will give us a $9000 profit.
Each book is only $20, Each of the 17 weeks in the regular season, a book may win one of the $75, $50, or $20 prizes. There is a bonus prize drawing if your team has a “bye” for a particular week. In addition, we are giving a $50 cash prize to the family that has sold (or bought) the most books, by 6 PM. September 4, 2008, scheduled kickoff for the first game of the regular Season, the Redskin and the Giants. Second prize is $25.
All you have to do is get your books to sell to family, friends, and business associates from the temple office or by calling Alan Narter at 708-748-4115. We will be glad to deliver them to you. We’ll even give you your favorite numbers if they are still available.
You don’t have to know anything about football. Each week, the winners will be announced on the website; prize checks will be issued by the end of the week. A single book could win every week.
If each family sells three books we will be very successful. Six books per family would require a second set of books, which would mean $18,000 of additional funds for running BYBS. Buy your books, put them in the desk, and the winning checks will come. You don’t need to do anything else.
