This evening’s Erev Shabbat Service, conducted by will begin at 8:00 pm. The Adult Choir will provide music for the service. Rabbi Dreyfus will bless those couples celebrating wedding Anniversaries in the month of April.
Tomorrow’s Shabbat Service, in which Ryan Blitstein will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah, continues our preparation for the Passover holiday, with this special Shabbat, Shabbat HaChodesh. Our Congratulations to Ryan and the entire Blitstein family.
The Parsha is Leviticus 12:1 - 13:59, and we include the passage of Exodus 12:1 - 20 for Shabbat HaChodesh. The first section deals with purifying a woman from her unclean state after childbirth. The second, dealing with leprosy and other types of skin blemishes which tend to make people very unclean. The section from Exodus is for Shabbat HaChodesh, and sets out basic rules for the celebration of Pesach.
The Haftarah for this Shabbat HaChodesh is Ezekiel 45:16 - 25
