This evening’s Erev Shabbat Service, sponsored in part by the Cooperative Jewish Council — that is, all of the Jewish groups in the area — will being at 6:30 pm. Rabbi Dreyfus will join her fellow Rabbis and undoubtedly a professional Chazan or two, to conduct the services. After which — at about 7:15 pm, there will be a gala dinner available to the entire community. You should have made paid reservations, by now, but if you haven’t, stop by the Temple. Chances are there will be a few “open” slots for the most forgetful and last minute folks.

Tomorrow morning’s Shabbat Service, beginning at 10:00 am, will be conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus. Carole Fefferman will be the Chazanit. After services we’ll meet for a little lunch and some Torah Study, in our monthly seminar known as Bible & Bagels.  Join us.

The Parasha is Vayak’heil, Exodus 35:1?38:20. Moses gathers everyone together and repeats what G-d has previously told him to say. First, observe the seventh day as a day of rest. Second, bring all your jewels and fine fabrics and so forth because it is, at least time to create the Tabernacle as G-d has instructed. They begin work, but after a short while the experts who were in charge of construction told Moses that people were bringing in much more than was needed, and Moses commanded them to stop. Enough. The rest of Parsha concerns the construction.

The Haftarah is I Kings 7:40?50
