All members in good standing should have received their tickets for High Holy Day services. Please be prepared to show the tickets to the uniformed security personnel and/or the volunteer ushers.

Rosh Hashanah begins Wednesday evening, September 12. Services are at 8:00 p.m.
On Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14, services begin at 10:00 a.m.

On Thursday morning there will be age-appropriate children’s services and programs in the Garfien Wing multi-purpose room. Parents should escort their children and register them with the supervisors before going into the sanctuary. Please inform the temple office in advance if you plan to put small children in the baby-sitting service, so that we can arrange for adequate staff.

On Friday afternoon of the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah, the congregation is invited to an Open House at the home of our temple president, Gayla Cahan. Gayla and Joel live at 3033 Scott Crescent in Flossmoor.

Yom Kippur begins Friday evening, September 21. Kol Nidre Service is at 7:30 p.m.
Morning services begin at 10:00 a.m. Following a break, the Afternoon Service resumes at 3:30 p.m., with Yizkor (memorial) service and Neilah (concluding) service following.

As you prepare for the Days of Awe, I hope you find time to contemplate the BIG questions and think deep thoughts. Take the opportunity to ask forgiveness of those you may have hurt, and seek reconciliation with those from whom you are estranged.

I look forward to seeing you soon as we celebrate shabbat and as we welcome the new year.
