On Friday evening October 19, 2007 and Saturday morning October 20, the South Suburban Jewish Community will celebrate a community Shabbat at Congregation Am Echad. Rabbi Daniel Goldfarb of the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem and the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism Scholar in Residence will speak on Friday evening and Shabbat morning.

On Friday evening the service will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Shabbat dinner at 7:00 p.m. Rabbi Goldfarb will speak following the dinner.

The Shabbat morning service begins at 9:30 a.m.and will conclude at approximately 11:45 a.m.,
followed by a dairy lunch. Rabbi Goldfarb will speak after the lunch.

Rabbi Daniel Goldfarb is a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Law School. He is a member of both the Israel and New York Bar Associations. He received his ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He worked as an attorney for Israel’s Ministries of Justice and Finance and in private practice in Jerusalem. Rabbi Goldfarb has served as a Scholar in Residence at synagogues throughout the world.
