As the new year is about to dawn next month, we as the co-presidents, officers, and directors of Sisterhood look forward to a new dawn of friendship, service, advocacy, education, and all the other benefits of belonging to Sisterhood. We will work very hard to make Sisterhood a Kehilat Chessed – Caring Community for BYBS and the women of our Jewish community.
Soon, you will receive a letter of invitation to join Sisterhood from our Membership Vice President Goldie Mankin. We hope that each of you will consider continuing your membership, rejoining, or joining for the first time. There will be many opportunities for you to give voice, appearance, strength, unity, and purpose to the mitzvah of membership locally, nationally and internationally. Remember, all Sisterhood members are also members of Women in Reform Judaism which means strength together. Our goal is to increase the number of members of Sisterhood, but numbers are only part of what Sisterhood can mean. We also hope to have personal contact with all of you so we can provide programs and services that meet your needs.

In the last Bulletin there were some tentative dates that gave you an idea of possible programs, etc. Some of those dates and programs have changed, so watch for information on these events. We will also list dates of Sisterhood Board meetings on the monthly calendars, and all are welcome to attend. The Opening Event will be October 28, but a week before that will be the first Book Group. See the separate article for the details of that.

We invite all of you to join us in greeting the new year with a renewal of those energizing forces that turn dreams into reality and aspirations into action.
