Jewish Medical Ethics – Dr. David Herbstman
The class will discuss the ethical dilemmas that modern advancements in medical science present.
(For grades 8-10 and Adults)
11:30- 12:30 p.m.
Great Challenges and Conflicts in the Life of Moses- Rabbi Shalom Podwol
The class will read and discuss selections from the Torah that have evoked much discussion and reflection through the ages such as, Why would Moses dare to destroy something as holy as the tablets containing the commandments? Why would Moses the greatest of all prophets not be permitted to enter the Promise Land? How did Moses deal with being told his death was near? These and other challenging topics will be discussed. (For grades 8, 9 and Adults)
Fundamentals of Judaism—Rabbi Ellen W. Dreyfus
Everything you should have learned in Sunday school but may have forgotten. Using question and answer format, we review basics of Jewish beliefs, history, texts, holidays, life cycle and customs. This class will be for the first half of the academic year. (for 10th graders)
This module will meet at B’nai Yehuda Beth Sholom
Fee: $35.00 for Adults
