This evening’s Erev Shabbat Service, conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus, begins at 7:30 pm. Nancy Friedman will be the cantorial soloist. This service will celebrate the students in our music program and children’s choir and will also recognize Shira Gottlieb, Lauren Mahler and Aaron Rusnak, the graduating seniors who have contibuted their time and talents in our schools.

Tomorrow morning’s Shabbat Service will be conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus, beginning at 10:00 am. Jerry Levine will be the cantorial soloist. We will have a light lunch and discussion session at our last Bible and Bagels session of the regular year.

The Parasha is B’midbar, Numbers 1:1 - 4:20, the beginning of the fourth book of the Torah. In the second month of the second year after the exodus from Egypt, G-d tells Moses to take a census, by tribe. They come up with a total of 603,550 men, over the age of 20 who are able to bear arms, but not including the Levites. Next, G-d tells Moses how the camps of the tribes shall be laid out, each under its own ancestral banner, and how they should march. G-d then demands a different census of the Levites, dividing them according to the descent from the various sons of Levi
