This evening’s Erev Shabbat Service, conducted by Rabbi Wolkow, will begin at 8:00 pm. The Adult Choir will provide the evening’s music.
After services, Gidon Doni Remba will speak on “Israel - Recent Developments”.
Tomorrow Morning’s Shabbat Service, conducted by Barry Bayer, will begin at 10:00 am. Ernie Ratowitz will read from the Torah. Carole Fefferman will be the Cantorial Soloist.
The Parsha is Emor, Leviticus 21:1 - 24:23. The section begins with a continuation of the code of conduct for the Priests, the Sons of Aaron. They should not have contact with the dead, except for their own close family, nor with people with any imperfections. The Torah then moves to a statement of the various holy days to be celebrated, and finally, a story of the stoning of a man who had blasphemed the name of G-d, and then a list of crimes and punishments.
