This evening’s Community Erev Shabbat Service will take place at 6:30 PM at Congregation Am Echad, 160 Westwood, Park Forest. (A dinner will be served at 7:00 PM for those who have made reservations. If you haven’t yet made reservations for dinner, you may be too late, but you can always call Marie at 708-748-5722. Of course, you can always come to services, even if you haven’t made reservations for dinner.)
Note: THERE WILL BE NO FRIDAY EVENING SERVICES AT B’NAI YEHUDA BETH SHOLOM this evening. WE WILL ALL BE AT CONGREGATION AM ECHAD.
Tomorrow morning’s Shabbat Service, conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus, will begin at 10:00 AM. Nicky Cummings will be the cantorial soloist.
The Parsha is Trumah, Exodus 25:1 - 26:19, concerning voluntary donations, rather than the half shekel compulsory donation discussed in last week’s special Maftir for Shabbat Shekalim. These voluntary donations are largely for the purpose of construction and decoration of the Altar and Tabernacle. The balance of the Parsha is basically a description of altar and tabernacle and instructions on how to build them.
