Last Shabbat of the December. Last Shabbat of 2006. We’ll celebrate with an 8:00 PM service conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus, with the able assistance of the Adult Choir.
Tomorrow morning’s Shabbat Service will begin at 10:00 AM and will be conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus. Carole Fefferman will be the Cantorial Soloist.
The Parasha is Vayigash , Genesis 44:18 ?47:27 Joseph, after several chapters of playing games, finally reveals himself to his brothers, the family finds out that Joseph is now an Egyptian big shot, every comes down to Egypt and so forth. We also learn how Pharoah (through Joseph) handles the plenty stored in the store houses, and, it seems, the entire Egyptian nation becomes enslaved to Pharoah. Guess who they blamed it on?
