Tomorrow morning’s Shabbat Service will begin at 10:00 AM, and will be conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus. Dr. Fawn Gottlieb will be the cantorial soloist.

This week’s parasha is Ki Tetzei, Deuteronomy 21:10 - 25:19, another pot pourri of laws, arranged in no particular order. Some are of limited use, today, and are probably prohibited by some Geneva Treaty or other — the rules for marrying, and divorcing, a female virgin prisoner of war. Others can be followed today — with all of the artificial fabrics available it isn’t a big deal to not mix linen and wool. Others seem to have been overtaken by modern technology — don’t muzzle the oxen that tread the grain. Some strange punishments that are to be set in special circumstances — read carefully to find out when the elders can loosen one of your shoes and spit on you.

But whatever else you do, don’t forget Amalek.
