The Parasha is Re’eh - Deuteronomy 11:26-16:17. We begin with G-d’s announcement that he has given the Jews the blessing and the curse. Worship the true G-d, and not other gods. In fact, destroy all of the high places where other gods have been worshiped. And don’t eat blood. Next we have a recital of the rules about Kosher animals that may be eaten, and those that should not be. We continue with instructions on the relaxation of debts and slavery in the seventh year, and how to make slaves permanent. (If they want to be permanent slaves.) Finally, we have more instructions about the celebrations of the major holidays, including particular instructions for Pesach, Shavuout and Succot.
