This evening’s Erev Shabbat Service will feature our Adult Choir, with services conducted by members of the choir and Rabbi Dreyfus. Among other selections, the choir will present a BYBS Premier (probably even a Homewood Premier) of the second movement of Leonard Bernstein’s Chichister Psalms.

Tomorrow morning’s Shabbat Services, conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus will begin at 10:00 AM.

The parasha, BeHa’alotecha - Numbers 8:1-12:16,
begins with 7 lamps and a candlestick, and rules concerning the service of the levites, and certain rules about the celebration of Passover. We turn to the tabernacle, with a cloud appearing to guide the Jews during the day and a fire at night. Next the Jews start complaining, and there’s the incident with Eldad and Medad, and even Miriam and Aaron began complaining about Moses, and his Ethopian wife. Individuals are punished for what they did, Miriam being attacked by leprosy, although with Aaron’s intervention, the leporsy departed after several days of exile.
