This evening’s Erev Shabbat Service, conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus, will begin at 8:00 PM. Our Adult Choir will sing and the Rabbi will bless congregants with wedding anniversaries in the month of May.
Tomorrow’s Shabbat morning service will begin at 10:00 AM and will be conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus. Jesse Weinrebe will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah.
The parasha will be the double portion of Acherei-Mot and K’Doshim, Leviticus 16:1 - 20:27. The reading begins with instructions for the Day of Atonement - from animals and dress, to priestly duties, to scapegoats, to duty of the people - and continues with details of animal sacrifices, slavery, the authority of G-d, law of marriage and sexuality, holiness, capital crimes, leaving the edges of the fields for the poor and strangers and more.
