Tomorrow Morning’s Shabbat Service will begin at 10:00 and will be conducted by Rabbi Dreyfus. Alexander Eaton will be called to the Torah for the first time as a Bar Mitzvah. Congratulations to Alexander and his family.

The Parasha, Vayikra, Leviticus 1:1 - 5:26 begins the third book of the Torah, and lots of information about Burnt Offerings to G-d. Various categories of sins can be atoned, but Burnt Offerings seem to be key, with special attention to blood, fat and kidneys. (By the way, blood and fat are for G-d; don’t eat either.) We don’t do burnt offerings, any more — we don’t even order steak well done. So why do we still read this once a year? Maybe Alexander will tell us.
