The parasha is Va’era, Exodus 6:2—9:35
The Jews in Goshen are in bad shape. G-d guides and encourages Moses to begin negotiations with Pharoh, but then makes it impossible for Pharoh to do the right thing and let G-d’s people go.
So begins the first group of plagues.
Blood… Frogs…Vermin…Beasts…Cattle Disease…Boils…Hail…
And we think Chicago weather is bad.
