Shalom Ya’ll

Welcome to congregation B’nai Yehuda Beth Sholom’s new adventure in membership communications. For non-members, BYBS is a congregation located in Homewood, IL , affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. (www.urj.org) We’ll be using the Blog to provide timely information on all aspects of congregational life, from services to meetings, to schools and so forth. If something is happening tomorrow evening, we’ll try to post if here. Members have likely been provided with much of the same information in our monthly bulletins, in e-mail and on the balance of our Web site. But this blog may get to you faster, and not get lost in all of the (shudder) SPAM, if you check back here often, or if you “subsscribe to one of our syndication feeds, using your new reader / aggregator.

If you don’t already have a news reader set up, you should try the no cost, Web-based system at www.bloglines.com. It should take a computer novice about 3 minutes to set it up, and thereafter it will notify you when a new message has been posted. We will categorize messages, so if you are only interested in “Schools” or only want information in changes in services, you can easily ignore the rest. I will provide access to blog posting to any officer of the congregation or affiliate with a need to use it, so the information won’t have to wait for some third party to clear it, and will be posted faster.
